i am a culmination of myself and my ancestors
where I was born is as important as where they were born
their experiences and mine are one
when i succeed they succeed through me
at times i find myself growing out of the only home i’ve ever known
and thriving in a place i (and my ancestors) wildest dreams.

my mornings don’t always look like this
sometimes I sleep @6 am,
if i’m lucky I can get 4our hours of sleep,
and if I’m not 2, then i’d start working on my assignments
on those mornings I miss my herbal spray, warm tea, and thanking my ancestors
sometimes I think I work too much...
decay
death n decay is everywhere,
you can’t escape it and even harder to pretend it doesn’t exist
it was my father who taught me compassion,
he would make sure I knew that family was everywhere,
with the spiders,
homeless,
trees,
and mother earth.
